      Description:

      Manage an active pipeline of appraisals and environmental reports.

      Maintain the list of approved commercial appraisers, commercial evaluation services, residential AMCs (securing commercial loans), and environmental consultants. Follow established process for vetting and adding appraisers or environmental consultants as needed to support activity in new marketplaces or new sectors.

      Establish and maintain appropriate guidelines and procedures for ordering commercial appraisals and environmental reports. This includes bidding reports, accepting bids, establishing the report timeline, and being the primary point of communication with the selected appraiser or environmental consultant.

      Review completed appraisals and environmental reports (or assign the review to an appropriate reviewer during periods of high volume) for accuracy, adequacy, and compliance with current requirements and regulations. Document the results of the review. Be the primary contact with the appraisers or environmental consultant when concerns with the report or other questions arise.

      Ensure valuations are compliant with FIRREA, including appraiser/lender independence requirements.

      Maintain knowledge of regulation, appraisal compliance, USPAP, and environmental ASTM and CERCLA requirements. Stay up to date on market trends and conditions. Communicate changes in regulation or requirements to staff members.

      Maintain strong relationships with internal customers, appraisers, and environmental consultants. Support appraisal and environmental requests from the real estate team and retail branch teams for Self-Help acquisitions.

      Manage special projects deemed critical to advancing team priorities.

      Create and produce various commercial reports as required.

      Maintain and track bids and timelines for appraisal and environmental reports in Lightbox/EDR Collateral 360. Remit vendor invoices for approval to ensure timely payment.

      Ensure each quarter that collateral entries and valuation data are accurate and up to date. Maintain collateral data in various systems.

      Serve as a resource as needed to support conversations with examiners, auditors, external partners, and internal customers, as requested.

      Implement system solutions to support status update, data analysis, and reporting needs.

      Train staff members on our appraisal and environmental procedures.

      Train staff members on the use and maintenance of Collateral 360.

      Complete any required training, including annual BSA training, in a timely manner.

      Maintain vendor relationship with Collateral 360.

      Provide support for collateral questions.

      Manage vendor relationships and act as a change agent to drive Self-Help’s economic inclusion initiatives by integrating supplier diversity and the use of businesses owned by women and people of color in third party contracting and vendor management for relevant products and services.

      Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.

      Credentials, Experience and Skills:

      A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).

      Certified General appraiser license preferred.

      Appraisal review experience and MAI designation preferred.

      5+ years’ experience in commercial appraisals or a related field.

      Strong commitment to our mission – creating economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities.

      Knowledge of environmental reports and regulatory issues preferred.

      Must have exceptional customer service skills.

      Demonstrated ability to balance, coordinate, and project manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

      Strong oral and written communication skills.

      Keen attention to detail.

      Experienced problem solver who can adapt to change and work collaboratively to advise and establish a resolution.

      Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with time-sensitive deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain composure in stressful situations.

      Must be able to work independently on daily tasks and be self-motivated, reliable, and flexible.
